David, Lise, Charlie - set loose in my studio with me facilitating on synths, drum machine, sequencers engineer and tape operator.

These recordings really represent part two of a three part process. Part one - David would borrow a synth for a week and work out some rough creative sketches of songs - then he’d come over with parts and ideas and lyrics lines and rough concepts he wanted to try – then Part two - the recording session was as much me capturing an audio snapshot of David in a studio performance - layer on layer.

Imagine Phil Collins channelling all of Genesis at once. It was creative mayhem and often I wouldn't really know what his ideas were until the final mix. Charlie shared the keyboard lines and did backing harmonies, arrangements and co-producing.

Basically my job was to create sounds and textures and keep the equipment running properly - capturing the magic of David throwing musical paint at acoustic walls.

These were more like demo tracks that ideally could be taken to Part three - and developed. Not sure that they ever were. They’re far from perfect and mostly David is in free-flight with tape rolling - experimenting and seeing what works – which often it didn’t. I have arranged the tracks in an order that run – for me - from most accomplished to most experimental - so listen as far as your passion for David allows.

I have taken these recordings from the 80's and sweetened them up a bit but basically they are as presented and mixed back then.
